Welcome to MASTEAM!
Telecommunication has evolved from audio and video communication for personal information exchange and entertainment to pervasive data communication in the Mobility and Internet-of-Things era. Currently, telecommunications in general and Internet in particular are major technological drivers, providing solutions for countless applications that were unthinkable just two decades ago. They have transformed the ways we communicate and live.
The master's degree in Applied Telecommunications and Engineering Management (MASTEAM) is an official master that offers students a wide range of optional courses and prepares them for research or professional practice as engineers in cutting-edge Information and Communication Technology (ICT) fields as the 5th generation of mobile communications (5G) and the Internet of Things (IoT), in order to improve people’s welfare in a sustainable economy.
The whole programme consists of 60 ECTS divided in:
- 15 ECTS for the mandatory courses
- 33 ECTS for the elective courses (out of an offer of 45 ECTS)
- 12 ECTS for the master's thesis
UPC is one of the leading Universities in the ICT sector at both European and global levels. You can check UPC's current position in several international rankings here. This master has obtained an official accreditation by AQU Catalunya.
Being an official master degree of one of the countries of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), the degree is automatically recognized in all the EHEA countries. Specifically, MASTEAM graduates whose official bachelor’s degree has at least 240 ECTS credits (4 years) fulfil the requirement of having at least 300 ECTS (240 BSc + 60 MASTEAM) in official programs and therefore may seek admission to a doctoral programme for pursuing an official PhD degree.
